HIGHLIGHTS
· During the CIAA Track and Field Championship in 1992, I was placed in the unseated heat of the 1500 m race and won my heat with an overwhelming victory. Unfortunately, this placed me second in the overall championship with a time just short of the winning time in the fast heat and slightly above that heats 2nd place finisher in their hotly contested finish. This inspired my refusal to be denied victory in my next race the 800 m. In that race, I finished first in a tight sprint for the last 100m giving me my fastest time ever and the title CIAA Champion.

HIGHLIGHTS
· In our inaugural season, our coach put together a team of individuals with little to no competitive swimming experience. He trained us well and kept our attitudes positive. We were more or less in a participation mode rather than a competitive situation. Our first meet was against Howard University. We came in with about seven or eight swimmers and Howard had 20 or 30. I guess you could say that it was a highlight just being able to field a team. Other teams that I can recall on our schedule were Morgan, Delaware State, UMES, Shepherd College, and Hartford Community College.
· Our second season was met with great optimism as we would be joined by Coach Lynn Lawson’s big prized recruit: Robert “Red Dog” Talley. The team was built around Robert and local Bowie HS grad Tommy Price. We began to experience some success (win some races).
